Bartolotta announces $240,000 grant for alternative fuel vehicles in Washington County

Senator Camera Bartolotta announced on March 31 that Waste Management of Pennsylvania, Inc. in Washington County has been awarded a $240,000 state grant to purchase eight Compressed Natural Gas Class 8 tractors.

The funding comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant (AFIG) program. The program supports projects that replace older gasoline or diesel-fueled vehicles with those using alternative fuels.

“This investment is a big win for supporting efficient, forward-looking operations,” Bartolotta said. “Programs like the Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant are critical to encouraging innovation and ensuring Pennsylvania remains a leader in responsible energy use.”

Bartolotta represents Pennsylvania’s 46th Senatorial District, which includes parts of Beaver County and all of Greene and Washington counties, according to her official website.
