Rep. Bud Cook, who represents parts of Greene and Washington counties, will hold a press conference to discuss legislative proposals and initiatives that affect the 50th District and Pennsylvania as a whole. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 27 at 1 p.m. at 338 Phillips St., Charleroi.

Cook plans to introduce legislation aimed at shifting control of the Local Share Account from county governments to state authorities. He will also provide updates on bills designed to modernize tire recycling processes and prohibit public officials convicted of felonies from becoming lobbyists.

“Topics will include legislation he has written, initiatives he is working on and other important issues that impact people living in the 50th District and all of Pennsylvania.The legislation Cook will introduce involves taking Local Share Account out of the control of the counties and putting that responsibility solely in the hands of the state. Cook will also highlight bills to modernize tire recycling () and to ban public officials convicted of a felony from becoming lobbyists ().”
