Rep. Bud Cook has expressed satisfaction with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s decision to allocate nearly $300,000 in grants to two initiatives in Greene County. The funding is intended to rejuvenate distressed areas and support low-income residents.

The Way Community Center of Greene County is set to receive $276,300. This grant will fund a project designed to create a multipurpose space for various activities, promoting intergenerational interaction through educational, recreational, cultural, social, and community events.

Additionally, the Community Foundation of Greene County will be granted $32,808 for its Weekend Backpack Food Program. This initiative aims to provide food every weekend for 255 students across Greene County schools.

Rep. Cook commented on the funding: “I am grateful to see support for these meaningful projects to help people of all ages in our Greene County communities,” he said. “Our county is at its strongest when we are together. I am always pleased to support projects and goals aimed at creating a safe environment for our children to grow in the 50th District.”

These Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) grants are part of a broader effort by Pennsylvania to encourage innovation, job creation, and economic development within local communities.
