Homeowners in McDonald paid property taxes equal to 0.4% of their home values during the fourth quarter of 2025, which is less than half the national average effective rate, according to BlockShopper.com.

Data shows the median sales price for a McDonald home in the fourth quarter of 2025 was $114,500, based on four transactions in that span. The city’s median tax bill for 2025 was $492, representing 0.4% of the median taxable home value.

The average effective property tax rate nationally was 0.888% in 2024.

Within Allegheny County, Russellton and Elizabeth reported the two highest effective property tax rates compared to other cities.
