The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has awarded significant financial support to the Mid Mon-Valley Water Pollution Control Authority. Representative Bud Cook (R-Greene/Washington) has confirmed that the authority will receive a low-interest loan exceeding $4.1 million along with a $400,000 grant.

This funding is set to facilitate updates to three pump stations managed by the authority. The planned improvements include demolishing existing control buildings and constructing new structures above the wet wells. These new structures will house upgraded pumps, meters, valves, and a control room.

Cook commented on the importance of such projects, stating, “Upgrading our community’s water services and facilities is essential to providing a safe area for all our citizens to thrive within the Mon Valley.” He expressed satisfaction with PENNVEST’s ongoing commitment, saying, “I am thrilled with PENNVEST’s continual investment into providing a safe and secure water distribution.”

PENNVEST, established in 1988, is known for offering grants and low-interest loans focused on the design, engineering, and construction of public and private water infrastructure projects. These projects include clean drinking water distribution, wastewater management, and stormwater systems.
