Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Greene) expressed his approval over the allocation of a $250,000 grant to Rices Landing Borough, aimed at enhancing the playground facilities at Pumpkin Run Park. The funding is provided through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) and will be used to upgrade playground equipment as part of the first phase of a broader initiative to increase the recreational appeal of the park.

The project will involve removing the existing playground and installing new features, including swings, a playground set, and rubber edging, along with 250 square yards of rubber play surface. Rep. Cook commented, “Our children deserve the most up to date playground equipment on which to play and grow. I am grateful to see this funding come to Greene County and invested into our youth.”

The GTRP, funded by Act 13 of 2012, is designed to enhance parks, trails, and recreational spaces across Pennsylvania, supporting initiatives like the one at Pumpkin Run Park.
