BPSD to Offer Joint Vaccination Clinics

BPSD to Offer Joint Vaccination Clinics

Bethel Park School District will hold joint Flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics for our entire community from noon until 8 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, in the Independence Middle School cafeteria (2807 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park, PA, 15102). However, we ask that you complete this survey indicating your intentions so that Spartan Pharmacy can plan the right number of doses for each clinic.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the best way to protect yourself and your family from influenza is to receive a flu shot each year. Children as young as four years-old may attend the flu shot clinic. The high-dose flu shot is available for anyone aged 65 or older.

The worst of the pandemic may be over, but staying current with your inoculations is as important as ever. The CDC has reminded us that you can be infected by both COVID-19 and influenza simultaneously. Also, many of the symptoms associated with the flu are commonly associated with COVID-19. Protecting your family from the flu will help prevent influenza transmission in our community, aid in continuing in-person instruction, and safeguard our healthcare systems.

It is important to note that the shots are not combined into one single shot and guests are not required to receive both shots. Rather, they are two separate shots, and guests must indicate in writing if they intend to receive a flu shot, a COVID-19 inoculation, or both.

To participate in either clinic, you must complete Spartan Pharmacy’s Vaccine Consent Form and provide a COPY of your health insurance information during registration. No copiers will be available on-site, so please plan and bring your completed paperwork and copies of your insurance and identification information. Spartan can accept most major insurance plans. If you do not have health insurance, you may still get a flu shot for $40. Also, the Pennsylvania Department of Health offers flu vaccines to the uninsured and underinsured. Those interested in receiving a flu vaccine through one of their clinics should call 1-877-PA-HEALTH (1-877-724-3258) to learn more.

Please submit the completed survey above by no later than Friday, October 21, 2022, so that our friends from Spartan Pharmacy bring enough doses to inoculate everyone who wants one and qualifies.
