State Rep. Tim O'Neal | Pennsylvania 48th Legislative District
Representative Tim O'Neal has announced that $163,844 in Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grants have been awarded to fire companies in the 48th Legislative District. The grant program, which began in 2000, is open to both volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services, and rescue squads in Pennsylvania. The grants can be used for various purposes such as facility construction or repair, equipment purchase or repair, debt reduction, and training. The funding amounts are dependent on the grant recipients filing their agreements with the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
O'Neal expressed his appreciation for the hard work of emergency responders and highlighted the significance of the grant program in reducing their fundraising burden. He proudly supported the program, stating that it is another way for gaming money to be invested back into the local area.
The fire companies in the 48th Legislative District that received grants include the Amwell Township Volunteer Fire Department, City of Washington Fire Department, Donora Borough Volunteer Fire Department, Fallowfield Township Volunteer Fire Department, Lone Pine Volunteer Fire Department, Morris Township Volunteer Fire Department, North Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, North Strabane Township Fire Department, South Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, South Strabane Township Fire Department, and West Finley Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The 48th Legislative District, located in Washington County, encompasses various areas, including the city of Washington, multiple townships, and boroughs such as Donora, East Washington, and Green Hills.
