FOIA Request to Greene County Election Department Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Southwest PA News have formally requested access to specific records under the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law.
Our request is specifically for the pre-election test reports of voting machines used in recent elections. We have asked for these reports to be provided in PDF format and include key details such as the test date, machine manufacturer, machine model number, and machine status indicating whether each machine passed or failed its pre-election test.
As a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage, we believe that access to such public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
We will continue to keep the public informed as we await a response from the Greene County Election Department regarding this important matter.
