To assist residents with illegible license plates, Representative Bud Cook (R-Greene/Washington) is organizing a second event for replacements. The event is scheduled for Monday, September 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds, Building 8.

State law mandates that PennDOT replace license plates deemed illegible at no cost to vehicle owners. A plate is considered illegible if one or more characters cannot be identified from 50 feet away due to issues such as blistering, peeling, discoloration, loss of reflectivity, or other damage.

“It was clear after the first event we held last week, this is definitely a need in our community,” Cook stated. “If you have a plate in need of replacement, I encourage you to come out to this event and we can help expedite the process for you. Thanks to Greene County Sheriff Marcus Simms for helping us provide this service to our community.”

Participants are required to bring their unexpired PA driver's license and current vehicle registration card. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling Cook's office at 724-929-2660 or signing up online at RepBudCook.com/Events.
