79.9% of Lawrence County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 86,311 citizens living in Lawrence County in 2021, 79.9% were old enough to vote, equating to 68,957 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 33,308 were male, constituting 48.3%, and 35,649 were female, making up 51.7%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lawrence County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 79.1%.
