Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington), whip of the House Republican Caucus, released a statement today in response to the National Football League's announcement that Pittsburgh will host the 2026 Draft.

“As a lifelong resident of western Pennsylvania and an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, I am thrilled that the NFL selected Pittsburgh to host the 2026 Draft. The Steelers franchise has a storied history and is an A-class organization. Football is in the DNA of our residents. In addition to being home to six Super Bowl titles, we have many hometown boys who have grown up to play and coach on other Super Bowl teams," O'Neal stated.

He added, “Our city has played host to many national and world-class sporting and cultural events. As the nation marks its semiquincentennial, it only makes sense that the draft should be held in the state that is home to our country’s birth. I’m confident the draft will kickoff another City of Champions era.”

The 48th Legislative District in Washington County covers several areas including the city of Washington; Amwell, part of Carroll (Districts 3, 4 and 5), East Finley, Fallowfield, Morris, North Franklin, part of North Strabane (Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), Nottingham, Somerset, South Franklin, South Strabane, West Finley townships; and the boroughs of Donora, East Washington and Green Hills.
