For over six years, Representative Bud Cook has been advocating for transparency from Washington County commissioners regarding the Local Share Account (LSA) program. According to Cook, efforts to obtain information about the LSA have been met with resistance, including during a recent county commissioners meeting where he was told to "move along."

Cook is skeptical of claims that there is “nothing to see” concerning the LSA funds. He questions why $10 million in unaccounted-for funds have not been disclosed and criticizes the county for spending $30,000 to contest right-to-know requests instead of providing transparency. Furthermore, he notes that requests from the state House delegation to rotate representation on the committee were not honored.

Cook asserts that access to information seems limited to those who are politically connected, leaving others in the dark about how local gaming proceeds are awarded. He emphasizes that government should serve all people rather than just a select few.

He encourages residents of Washington County to review his efforts at RepBudCook.com/lsainfo and urges them to demand openness and transparency from local leaders.

Representative Bud Cook serves Pennsylvania's 50th Legislative District. For further information or media inquiries, contact Patricia Hippler at 717-772-9846 or via email at phippler@pahousegop.com.
