In Waynesburg, the East Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company No. 15 celebrated its centennial anniversary. Representative Bud Cook, serving Greene and Washington counties, presented a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to mark this milestone.
The fire company was founded in February 1923 by a group of 25 local men and was officially chartered the following month. In recent years, the company has made significant improvements with the construction of a new station in 2021. This facility includes wide bays, energy-efficient construction, LED lighting, a backup generator, and a large meeting room.
Rep. Cook expressed his appreciation for the service provided by the members of East Bethlehem Fire Company No. 15: “Our community is blessed by the men and women who serve with East Bethlehem Fire Company No. 15 and with all of our local fire and emergency services departments,” he stated. “Thank you for your service and sacrifice.”
The event highlighted both the history and continued commitment of the fire company to its community.
