Rep. Bud Cook has announced that Marianna Borough in Washington County received a grant to explore the possibility of developing an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trail system. The $37,500 grant comes from the ATV and Snowmobile Grant Program, which is part of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).

"Our region is blessed with many assets, attractions and activities," Cook stated. "I applaud the folks in Marianna Borough for looking to expand on the activities it already offers to both residents and visitors."

Cook highlighted that DCNR is currently accepting applications for its fall grant round. These grants are available from the ATV and Snowmobile Management Restricted Accounts for projects related to land acquisition, planning, development, rehabilitation, maintenance, equipment purchase or educational programs concerning ATV or snowmobile trails and facilities.

Eligible applicants include for-profit organizations, nonprofit organizations, and municipalities within the Commonwealth. Proposals must be submitted through DCNR’s online grant application portal by 4 p.m. on Friday, September 29.

For help with using the portal, individuals can contact DCNR's Grants Customer Service Center at 800-326-7734 or via email at DCNR-Grants@pa.gov.
