State Representative Bud Cook has announced the allocation of over $375,000 in state grants to support community parks within the 50th Legislative District. These funds aim to enhance local recreational areas, which are considered vital for community life.

"Local parks and recreational areas are an important part of what makes our region a great place to live, grow and raise a family," stated Cook. He added that these projects contribute to his vision for the district: "Come Home, Go Big and Have a Ball."

The grants have been distributed as follows:

- Center Township in Greene County will receive $100,000 for its community park's rehabilitation. The project includes building renovations, ADA access improvements, landscaping, and other site enhancements.

- Greene County is set to receive $208,100 for further development at Wisecarver Recreation Area in Franklin Township. Planned work involves constructing an internal loop trail, boardwalk, pedestrian bridge, stormwater management measures, ADA access improvements, landscaping, and related site upgrades.

- North Charleroi Borough in Washington County has been awarded $71,100 for North Charleroi Park's rehabilitation. This includes installing play equipment with safety surfacing and utilities alongside ADA access improvements and landscaping.

These funds were provided through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnership Program.
