State Rep. Cook, Bud | Pennsylvania 50th Legislative District
Rep. Bud Cook announced that over $1.5 million has been allocated to enhance student safety and mental health in his district, which includes Greene and Washington counties. Cook emphasized the importance of safeguarding future leaders and expressed his support for this funding initiative.
“These kids are our future leaders, and we have a responsibility to keep them safe and help them succeed,” Cook stated. “I’m pleased to support this funding for our area schools and students.”
The funds were distributed among several school districts as follows: Bentworth School District received $119,891; Bethlehem-Center School District got $119,175; Brownsville Area School District was awarded $129,803; California Academy of Learning Charter School obtained $70,000; California Area School District received $117,752; Carmichaels Area School District was given $118,731; Central Greene School District secured $125,717; Charleroi School District got $125,591; Greene County Career and Technical Center was awarded $70,000; Intermediate Unit 1 received $70,000; Jefferson-Morgan School District got $114,596; Mon Valley Career and Technical Center obtained $70,000; Southeastern Greene School District was granted $111,079; West Greene School District received $112,518; Western Area Career and Technical Center secured $70,000.
These grants were provided through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency's School Safety and Security Committee.
