Rep. Tim O'Neal of the House Republican Caucus expressed his excitement over the NFL's decision to select Pittsburgh as the host city for the 2026 Draft. "As a lifelong resident of western Pennsylvania and an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, I am thrilled that the NFL selected Pittsburgh to host the 2026 Draft," O'Neal stated. He highlighted Pittsburgh's rich football heritage, noting its six Super Bowl titles and its contribution to producing players and coaches for other teams.
O'Neal also emphasized Pittsburgh's history of hosting major sporting and cultural events, asserting that "as the nation marks its semiquincentennial, it only makes sense that the draft should be held in the state that is home to our country’s birth." He added confidence in this event marking another successful era for what he termed as "City of Champions."
The 48th Legislative District, represented by O'Neal, includes Washington city and various townships and boroughs within Washington County. For media inquiries, Tracy Polovick can be contacted at 717-260-6358 or via email at tpolovick@pahousegop.com.
