Borough of Waynesburg recently issued the following announcement.
Rain Day is Waynesburg’s claim to fame! This festival is held every July 29th, Rain Or Shine. Rain day started in the early 1800’s and the Special Events Commission has brought continuity of this annual street festival to the heart of downtown Waynesburg with live entertainment all day long, arts, crafts, great food, children’s carnival games, face painting & petting zoo. The festival also consists of the Business Window decorating contest, Umbrella contest, Jack McCracken Award, Baby Rain Day and Company K Salute. Let’s not forget the Hat bet tradition the mayor wagers with a celebrity.
