HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster), Whip Tim O’Neal (R-Washington), and Policy Chairman Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington) have expressed their support for a package of legislation introduced by caucus members. The focus of this legislation is on providing real energy savings for Pennsylvania’s families and small businesses.
Cutler emphasized the importance of making living in Pennsylvania more affordable for its residents. He stated, "It needs to be more affordable to live in Pennsylvania and the package of bills introduced today will have a direct cost-savings to Pennsylvania’s energy consumers, making it more affordable for families and small businesses to find a home in Pennsylvania."
O’Neal criticized Governor Josh Shapiro's energy plan, highlighting that it imposes new taxes on utilities for Pennsylvania consumers. He stressed the urgency of providing relief to people facing rising costs, saying, "House Republicans know that as inflation rages and costs continue to rise, people are desperate for much-needed relief."
Kail underscored the commitment of House Republicans to assist consumers in managing their expenses. He warned about the consequences of not pursuing sensible legislation, mentioning the potential impact on individuals like his grandmother, who may struggle to afford basic necessities such as electricity.
The legislative package introduced by House Republicans aims to positively impact Pennsylvania’s families striving to make ends meet. The focus remains on delivering tangible benefits to energy consumers in the state.
The nine-bill package will be formally introduced in the coming weeks, providing further details on the proposed measures.
