Rep. Tim O'Neal (R-Washington) will be hosting a shredding event at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, offering residents of the 48th Legislative District an opportunity to protect themselves against identity theft by securely destroying personal documents. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, from 9-11 a.m. at 210 Racetrack Road, Washington.

According to Rep. O'Neal, "Identity thieves continue to prey upon people. While many use sophisticated methods, one of the easiest ways to avoid falling victim is to properly destroy documents that contain sensitive information. I encourage all residents to participate in this event."

Residents are advised that only paper documents will be accepted, with a limit of no more than three brown paper grocery bags or open small cardboard boxes per household. Businesses are not permitted to participate. Participants are requested to place all items to be shredded in the trunk of their vehicle to facilitate a quick process without the need to exit the vehicle.

For more information about the event, interested individuals can contact O'Neal's Washington district office at 724-223-4541.

The 48th Legislative District in Washington County encompasses various areas, including the city of Washington, several townships, and boroughs such as Donora, East Washington, and Green Hills.
