The third annual Women in Leadership Conference is set to take place on October 5 at Waynesburg University's Goodwin Performing Arts Center. The event, organized by Representative Bud Cook, aims to bring women together for empowerment and inspiration.

"It has been such an honor to host this event to help bring women together to empower one another and inspire all of us," said Cook. "I am eager to hear from these outstanding speakers and encourage everyone who is able to join us."

Wendy L. Grimm will deliver the keynote address. With over 25 years at the Federal Aviation Administration, she currently manages the Allegheny Flight Standards District Office in Pittsburgh. Her career has included roles such as safety inspector and manager at various FAA offices.

Joining Grimm are Carrie Willetts, executive vice president of health care integration and business development for the WVU Health System, and state Representative Natalie Mihalek. Willetts has held leadership positions in several health systems and was recognized with the ATHENA award for mentorship excellence in 2021.

Mihalek's background includes service in the U.S. Navy's elite nuclear power program, a role as assistant district attorney in Allegheny County, and ownership of a small business. She was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2018.

Cook invites both men and women from his district to attend the conference. Interested participants can register online or via phone without any cost.
