To assist residents with illegible license plates, Representative Bud Cook is organizing a replacement event. The event is scheduled for Monday, August 28, from 3-6 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds, Building 8.
According to state law, PennDOT must replace license plates that are considered illegible without cost to the vehicle owner. A plate is deemed illegible when numbers or letters cannot be recognized from a distance of 50 feet due to blistering, peeling, discoloration, loss of reflectivity, or other damage.
"If you have a plate in need of replacement, I encourage you to come out to this event and we can help expedite the process for you," said Cook. "I’m pleased to work with Greene County Sheriff Marcus Simms to provide this service to our community."
Participants should bring their unexpired Pennsylvania driver's license and current vehicle registration card. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling Cook's office at 724-929-2660 or signing up online at RepBudCook.com/Events.
