State Rep. Cook, Bud | Pennsylvania 50th Legislative District
The fourth annual Women in Leadership Conference, hosted by Representative Bud Cook (R-Greene/Washington), is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, from 1-3 p.m. at PennWest University California.
“It is truly an honor to host this event to help bring women together to empower one another and inspire all of us,” said Cook. “We have some outstanding speakers with great stories to tell about their lives and successes. I encourage women and men across the district to join us.”
This year’s keynote speaker is Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity. Her work as treasurer has focused on boosting transparency, cutting waste and fees, returning billions of dollars in unclaimed property to its rightful owners, and making education more affordable. Garrity is also a businesswoman and retired U.S. Army Reserve colonel who was deployed three times in defense of the nation: in 1991 (Operation Desert Storm), in 2003 (Operation Iraqi Freedom), and in 2008 (Operation Enduring Freedom).
Garrity will be joined at the conference by Tricia Caputo-Lerda, a licensed massage therapist who recently opened Massage Revolution LLC in Monongahela while also working as an adjunct instructor at Douglas Education Center in Monessen; and Rebecca Corvin, also known as LADY BEC, who is an author, podcast host, personal development coach, and devoted mother.

The event will be held in the south wing of the university’s convocation center.
